Fax on a digital phone line with the HP 3301fdw.
HP fax is built for ordinary analog phone lines. On DSL, PBX, ISDN or internet phone (VoIP) you may need a filter or an adapter, and HP does not guarantee every digital line works.
Steps
- On DSL, fit a DSL filter between the wall jack and the printer.
- On VoIP, plug the printer into the phone port of the internet phone box.
- If faxes fail, lower the fax speed.
- Ask your phone company which setup suits their line.
Good to know
- Signs you have VoIP: you dial an access code before numbers, or an internet box gives you the phone sockets.
