HP 3301 help

The HP 3301fdw sends faxes but does not receive them.

Usually the answer settings, voicemail on the same number, or other equipment grabbing the call.

Steps

  1. If Auto Answer is off, you must receive faxes manually.
  2. Without a distinctive ring service, set Distinctive Ring to All Standard Rings.
  3. Voicemail on the fax number means you must receive faxes manually.
  4. A computer modem on the line must not be set to receive faxes automatically.
  5. With an answering machine, keep its greeting short and quiet, and set the printer to more rings than the machine.
  6. Clear any paper jam or empty tray. Stored faxes must print before new ones come in.
