Turn fax Error Correction Mode on or off.

ECM resends damaged parts of a fax on poor lines. It is on by default. Turning it off can cut phone charges on bad lines but lowers quality and drops the speed to Medium.

Steps

On the Home screen tap Menu, scroll to Utilities and tap Settings, then Fax Settings → Fax Send (or Fax Receive).
Switch Error Correction Mode on or off.

Hear static on the line? Turning ECM off can help faxes go through.
