HP OfficeJet Pro 9730 help

Why the HP 9730 can reject some ink cartridges.

HP’s guide says the 9730 is meant to work only with cartridges carrying a new or reused HP chip. A reused HP chip allows refilled or remanufactured cartridges. Cartridges with a non-HP chip can be blocked, and firmware updates can block ones that worked before.

Steps

  1. Buy compatible sets that use a reused HP chip, or original HP 936 cartridges, which always work.
  2. Set firmware updates to Notify or Do Not Check so a working setup is not changed without asking. How →
