Receive a fax by hand while you are on the phone.

Manual receiving works from a phone connected to the printer’s fax port. You must be there to answer, or the fax is not received.

Steps

  1. Make sure the printer is on and has paper.
  2. Turn off Auto Answer (on the Home screen tap Menu, scroll to Utilities and tap Settings, then Fax Settings → Fax Receive).
  3. When the caller is ready, ask them to press Send on their fax machine.
  4. When you hear fax tones, tap Receive Now on the printer. You can hang up.
